Who Are We?
We are a group of music teachers around the East Hertfordshire area who have come together in order to co-ordinate our services to better reach and serve those who seek what we have to offer.

A while back some of us realised that there was often a need for us to know other locally based music tutors. For example when a sibling of a student was seeking a teacher of a different instrument we wanted to be able recomend a reliable colleage but didn't have the contacts. At other times a student may require a specific musical style or 2nd instrument not offered by their tutor and that tutor wants to effectively put them in touch with someone else who does.

We are based mostly based around the East Hertfordshire area but do spread into surrounding Essex, London and other Hertfordshire areas so please drop us an enquiry wherever you are!

We are not an agency or tuition business so all our tutors are entirely independent and unlike other tuition sites or agencies there are no added fees on top of what the tutor charges for the lessons. All our tutors set their own rates, methods of payment, lesson types offered and policies regarding lessons. All details concerning lessons should be discussed directly with the tutor.

You can rest assured all our tutors are qualified and experienced musicians and teachers who have earnt a solid proffesional reputation through their work.
OUR LESSONS
Most of our tutors travel to lessons, teach from home as well as offering online tuition when required. Once we know what you are seeking and the kind of arrangement that suits you we can match you up with the right person. We are not an agency so there are no extra fees on top of what the tutor charges. All our tutors are entirely independent so they all have their own rates, systems of payment, lesson types offered and policies regarding how they provide their service. This is just a central hub for finding your tutor and for us to share our recources effectively without unecessary costs. WOODWIND
We currently cover the most common woodwind instruments of saxophone, clarinet, flute and recorder as well as some speciality and beginner instruments such as ocarina, mini j-sax and penny whistle. We currently have an adult learning jazz and Romanian folk tunes on Clarinet, a young lad starting on the colourful j-sax mini saxophone, a mother and daughter beginning flute and as well as music students taking the top ABRSM grades for their A Levels one of our tutors has also just finished running whole class ocarina lessons in a primary school. So as you see there is little that we haven't covered in the woodwind department.
STRINGS
East Herts Music Tuition currently covers Violin, Viola, Cello, Guitar, Bass, Double Bass, Ukulele and Mandolin. Our tutors on these instruments are all versatile across the different styles commonly associated with this family of instruments from folk to rock or pop and classical to blues and jazz. We have electric guitar students performing for musical theatre shows as well as very small violinists learning their first bowing as well as some seasoned Ukulele strummers with time on their hands to develop their favourite hobby.
KEYBOARD
Our keyboard tutors are experienced proffesionals covering both classical piano as well as electric keyboard. Working privately and in schools in the area they have a great track record of helping students get to the highest levels of playing. They also offer a familiar face for accompanying our soloist students such as flute and violinists for their exams or other performances.
DRUMS
Our drum tutors are experienced teachers and performers in their own right. They can effectively teach all aspects of drum kit playing and take students through rock school or trinity drum kit grades if they wish. Whether they just want to unleash their beast on the kit or join a band and do gigs all our drum students make great progress on the kit. Some of our tutors also specialise in hand drumming styles such as djembe and congas etc.
I have been having Saxaphone lessons with Jonathan and have found his approach extremely refreshing. He is very patient & helpful which for a beginner is a massive asset. Jonathan is very knowledgable and his teaching technique makes things easy for myself to develop and progress lesson by lesson. I would highly recommend Jonathan as a teacher & is also an all round great guy!

WORKSHOPS AND ENSEMBLES
Not only are our teachers busy giving a range private lessons but many of them also run community bands and workshops where musicians and students can play and perform with others or study a certain musical area as part of a group. We have some of these presented below. Feel free to make contact and enquire as to what is going on around the area. Or you never know, someone may be able to set something up in[ your area if there is a demand expressed.
